Religious Exploration

Building Bridges is a world religions program to deepen youth’s understanding of the dynamic, fascinating, and varied world in which they live. It seeks to broaden their knowledge of humanity and embolden their spiritual search. Our middle/high school Building Bridges world religions group has evolved into an opportunity for ALL AGES to explore the beliefs of other faith communities through visits to their places of worship.  In the past Building Bridges has learned about the following world religions through readings, other resources, respectful discussions, by meeting individuals from these faiths, and attending services at their houses of worship: Bahai, Catholic, non-denominational Christian, Quaker, Islam, Judaism, Latter Day Saints, Buddhism, Navajo Spirituality, and Hindu.  Building Bridges for 2023-2024 concluded on April 28th, 2024, with tentative plans to resume in Fall 2024.

Our Whole Lives is a comprehensive Sexuality Education program developed jointly by the UUA and the United Church of Christ and is offered to Beacon families once a year.  For more details, click here.
